Lasagna: A delicious, high-calorie recipe for weight gain

Some information about lasagna

Lasagna originated in Italy in the 13th century . This steamed pasta was used to prepare terrines made with pork, chicken, fish, and eggs.

They arrived in France in the 15th century . The classic recipe consists of several layers of pasta, accompanied by a sauce made with tomato, meat, and cheese. Currently, lasagna is available in several variations depending on the ingredients used. For example, it is possible to replace the meat with vegetables or fish.

Preparing lasagna Bolognese

If you want to make lasagna Bolognese for 2 people, you will need:

  • 1 package of lasagna;
  • 20 g of grated cheese;
  • 25 g of flour;
  • 30 g of butter;
  • 30 g of parmesan;
  • 150 g of ground beef;
  • 200 g tomato puree;
  • 4 cl of water;
  • 5 cl of red wine (optional);
  • 100 cl of milk;
  • 1 tbsp olive oil;
  • 1 bay leaf;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • 1 celery;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 1 onion;
  • thyme and basil;
  • pepper and salt.

The preparation takes place in a few steps:

Bolognese

Start by chopping the vegetables into small cubes. Sauté the garlic and onion in a little olive oil. Add the celery, carrot, and meat, stir, and simmer for a few minutes. Pour in the red wine (optional) and wait for it to evaporate before adding the tomato puree, water, thyme, and basil. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then cook over low heat for 45 minutes.

Bechamel sauce

To prepare the béchamel sauce, start by melting the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour all at once. Stir continuously with a whisk, while gradually pouring in the milk. Remove from the heat after about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

The last step

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F), then oil your lasagna dish. Start by pouring a layer of béchamel sauce. Arrange your lasagna on top, then cover everything with Bolognese sauce. Pour more béchamel sauce and finish with grated Parmesan. Repeat in the same order until the container is full. Scatter grated cheese and a few knobs of butter on top. Bake for 25 minutes.
